Here's the Plan
Greetings! Here's what I will be posting about over the next month or so:
- My first series of posts will focus on the "WilCo" (Williamson County Juvenile Justice) story, which I had covered in my fourth Solving for Pattern essay. In what I think will turn out to be a three-part series, I will redo most of that essay, but will also complete it (not sure why, but the original essay was released unfinished). The first part will focus on the story itself, emphasizing relevant data; the second part will look at this work through the lens of the TBRI Practice Principles; the third part will look at the WilCo story through the lens of the Theory of Expansive Learning.
- The next series of posts will focus on Restoration Rome and the Georgia TBRI Collaborative. I am having conversations with Mary Margaret and Jeff Mauer, and they are also sharing relevant documents with me. It is an amazing story, that (to my knowledge) has not been shared (in print), and I hope I can do it justice.
- The next post will focus on notions of "Freedom," based (primarily) on the perspectives of Zhuangzi, Baruch Spinoza, Wendell Berry, and John Bowlby, and will include a discussion of how these ideas relate to the practice of TBRI.
This should keep me busy for the remainder of 2025, and for the first part of 2026. Until then, I wish you a Thanksgiving rich in family, good friends, and good food. (This year, I will be baking three pies: apple, pumpkin, and junkberry.)
